Youtube – Indian version

Filed under: general — arungupta @ 1:48 am

Check out MeraVideo and ApnaTube – Indian versions of youtube. Read/listen interview of MeraVideo.com founder. I found regular pauses in ApnaTube streaming but no such issues in MeraVideo though. Most of the videos, on both the sites, were not original though.

  1. I don’t know how you missed AapkaVideo, another exciting service that allows you to watch, upload and share videos with others. This desi service is totally free and allows you to watch and share videos free with others. You can even upload videos, you just have to register a free account with the service and immediately start uploading videos. The streaming quality is good and much better than the services you mentioned.
With a few clicks, You can upload the videos and also share videos by creating a link and emailing them to others. You can even share multiple videos to others. Users have to click on the links emailed to watch the videos. The videos are categorized for ease of navigation and the search feature lets you spot the video you want easily. Please note that there is a 100MB upload limit for the videos.

  2. Thanks Krish for the link. The website says “Director Ban Jao” but it seems like all the links are from pre-established directors. Both, apnatube and meravideo, do have good number of personal videos which is closer to youtube model.
