The annual Ice and Snow Festival has opened in the North Eastern Chinese city of Harbin. The temperature in Harbin goes forty below zero, both Fahrenheit and Centigrade, during winter and stays below freezing most of the winter. Instead of suffering the cold, residents of Harbin put up a great annual festival of ice and snow sculptures and competitions. The show official runs from January 5 – Feb 5, 2007.
